Simple Homemade Hummus
You likely already have everything you need on hand to make this simple, protein and fiber rich appetizer.
Makes: 10-15 servings
Ingredients
2 cans garbanzo beans, drained and well rinsed
4 tbsp water
4 tbsp olive oil
1/2 lemon, juiced
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground cumin
Toppings
Basil
Pine nuts
Cherry tomatoes
Olive oil
Parmesan
Flaky salt (I used a flaky herb garlic salt)
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender. If using a Vitamix style blender, load your liquids in first and garbanzo beans last for optimal blending. If using a Magic Bullet style blender, load in the opposite order.
Blend well and add to a serving dish, or an airtight container if storing in the fridge.
Top to your liking! A drizzle of quality olive oil is the key to success here, but any and all toppings are encouraged.
