Grass-Fed Beef Burger Bowl

A simple meal when you want all the flavors of a good juicy burger but just don’t have the time.

Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients

For the Meat

  • 2 lbs grass-fed and finished ground beef

  • 1-2 Tbsp garlic powder

  • 1-2 Tbsp onion powder

  • Sea salt to taste

To Top

  • 1 small onion, sliced and sautéed (or raw depending on your preference)

  • Diced tomatoes

  • Pickles

  • Sauerkraut

  • Lettuce

  • Grass-fed cheddar cheese, shredded

  • Avocado

  • Mustard

  • Low-sugar organic ketchup (I like Primal Kitchen or The New Primal)

  • Special sauce (I like Primal Kitchen Special Sauce or Chosen Foods Burger Sauce - both use avocado oil in place of most brands which use inflammatory seed oils)

Sweet Potato Fries

  • Organic sweet potatoes, cut into matchsticks

  • Avocado oil

  • Unrefined sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.

  2. Cut sweet potatoes into match sticks. Very lightly coat in avocado oil and sea salt.

  3. Place sweet potato fries on a parchment-lined baking sheet without touching each other. Bake for about 30 minutes, flipping half-way through.

  4. If sweet potato fries are done but flimsy, broil them for a few minutes to crisp them up.

  5. While sweet potato fries are cooking, break up and brown your ground beef. Season accordingly with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.

  6. While meat cooks, prepare your toppings. I prefer to sauté my onions instead of serving them raw.

  7. Assemble your bowl and top to your liking!
