Caroline Kail Wellness Holiday Gift Guide
We blinked and suddenly the holidays are here! I’m making an effort this year to start my shopping earlier to take advantage of some great sales, and truthfully to spread my spending over two months instead of one so it feels a bit less daunting!
I like to make an effort to gift everyone on my list something useful and nontoxic because there’s no better way to show someone you love them and want them to be around forever than to remove some toxins from their homes ;) I hope you find some fun health inspired ideas from these guides.
Disclaimer: This post does contain some affiliate links that I receive a small commission from. These extra dollars help me offset the cost of running my small business. My promise to you is to never share something that I don’t love! I am only an affiliate for brands that I personally use and love. Everything on this list I either own and use often or it’s on my personal wishlist. I’ve tried to note that for each item in the descriptions.
Happy shopping!
For the Beauty Lover
Clearstem Glow + Sculpt Set (Discount Code: CAROLINEKAILWELLNESS): This set comes with a nontoxic and acne-safe barrier balance oil, the perfect shaped gua sha and a cute headband.
Skinny Confidential Hot Mess Ice Roller: This is the best ice roller that actually stays cold and really depuffs the face.
Skin Gym Face Sculptor: Full disclosure - I haven’t used this exact one. I swear by the Clarins Flash Roller that seems to have been discontinued (tragic). This is the most similar (and affordable) option I can find. Here’s another option. These are so good for lymphatic drainage and sculpting.
Beauty by Earth Self Tanner: (Discount Code: CAROLINEKAILWELLNESS) The body mousse and face spray are so good, fully nontoxic and acne-safe. They also go on clear (hence why they aren’t in the going to bed ugly category) and won’t stain your sheets!
Henry Rose Nontoxic Perfume: The discovery set allows you to try all 12 scents for just $45 and comes with a $20 off your first bottle coupon. Because artificial fragrance and endocrine disruptors are so 2020.
Equip Colostrum (Discount Code: CAROLINEKAILWELLNESS): Skip the hefty price tag from the trendy brands and try this grass-fed version instead to improve vitality, revive gut health, fortify your immune system and boost skin radiance with nature's first fuel. Their colostrum also comes in gummy form and I love their Prime Protein, Collagen, Organ Blend Supplements and Clean Coffee.
Olive & June Nail Polish: This is my favorite stocking stuffer. They have so many shades of their non-toxic polish that is long lasting and so shiny. I’ve used their mani and pedi systems for years. My most used pedi color is called LD. Such a nice time and money saver and so much less toxic than going to a traditional nail salon.
For the Girl Who Isn’t Afraid to Go to Bed Ugly
Mouth Tape: You’re guaranteed to have the best night's sleep when you’re breathing through your nose. Mouth taping helps with decreased snoring, an improved oral microbiome, more restful sleep and improved immunity. Here’s a less girly option for the loudly snoring men in your life.
Silk-Lined Sleeping Cap: If you want to preserve your blowout and keep your hair off your face (looking at all my acne-prone friends), you need this under $20 sleeping cap. It’s really not cute, but that’s why it’s in this category.
Barefaced Eye Patches: These reusable eye patches don’t contain any product - you just simply put them on over your products to lock in moisture under the eyes. These definitely help reduce the appearance of fine lines under the eyes better than any product I’ve used. I love to pop them in the freezer in the mornings before using to depuff.
Face Tape: For the guy or girl who is worried about wrinkles but more worried about neurotoxins from botox, face taping is the new thing. People have sworn by it forever, but more and more options are starting to become available. I’ve heard mixed reviews on these but these Skin Gym ones are on my list to try as well as these from @naturalfacebible.
Silk Eye Mask (Discount Code: CAROLINEKAILWELLNESS): I just love anything from Clearstem and this eye mask is so luxe. It helps keep the light out while also staying cool and keeping your eye patches in place.
For that Friend Who Carries the Biggest Purse and Doesn’t Even Know What’s In It
Necessaire Hand Cream: I realize Necessaire is no longer the cool brand of the moment, but let me tell you, this hand cream is it and I will forever repurchase. Fragrance-free and no sticky or oily residue. This clean $6 version from Amazon works just as well but isn’t quite as chic or aesthetic.
Clearstem Lips & Cutes (Discount Code: CAROLINEKAILWELLNESS): Keep it in your purse and on your nightstand. Clean, won’t clog your pores (looking at you Aquaphor and Vaseline), and can be used as a cuticle treatment or lip gloss. I swear by this.
Chic Personalized Supplement Case: Because if they’re in a cute case, maybe you’ll remember to take your supplements? For your extra bougie wellnessy friend, this is a need… for digestive enzymes of course. Just added to my personal wishlist.
Owala 32 oz. Free-Sip Water Bottle: Because my dermatologist told me she could tell I used a Stanley daily due to my new lip wrinkles. Truly humbling. This one allows you to sip or use the straw and has a top AND doesn’t spill. 10/10.
For the Biohacker
Therasage Portable Sauna (Discount Code: CAROLINEKAILWELLNESS20 through November 30th for 20% off): I love this sauna. It’s so much better than laying in the sleeping bag version in your own sweat. Ew. It’s pricey but I’ve used it for about four years now and it’s held up very well. You can sit in the chair or sit fully inside on the floor on a towel. The inside is full of red-light and comes with a grounding foot mat. Lots of multi-tasking is possible with this sauna format.
Infrared PEMF Mat (Discount Code: CAROLINEKAILWELLNESS): We fight over who gets to use this mat in our house. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) grounds you in the earth’s magnetic field for a full-body reset, while Infrared’s deeply-penetrating heat doubles your dose of recovery and detox. We have the small version (the Go Mat) that folds to fit on a couch or in a chair while working and find we use it way more this way.
Red Light Face Mask (Discount Code: CAROLINEKAILWELLNESS): This one’s a trifecta - for the biohacker, beauty lover AND girl who isn’t afraid to go to bed early. Red light on the face is said to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, boost collagen and combat damage from constant blue light exposure.
Organo KING Coffee: Adding this to the biohacker category because it’s one of my favorite ways to habit stack and incorporate functional mushrooms. I drink this reishi-infused organic coffee every morning to support immunity and detoxification.
Amber Book Light: For that friend who isn’t on the Kindle train yet and prefers a real book but doesn’t want to have to keep the lights on to read - get them this $12 clip on amber book light. It’s my go to stocking stuffer and I swear it will put you to sleep in five minutes.
Wired Headphones: Because AirPods that emit EMFs and ionizing radiation aren’t so great... Please don’t shoot the messenger!
For the Chef
8-Inch Chef’s Knife: I was gifted this knife for Christmas last year and it’s become my most used knife by far. I use it at least once a day. The price point for the quality is hard to beat.
Nontoxic Nonstick Pan: In general, I’m not a huge fan of nontoxic nonstick pans because they don’t all last. I prefer to just use a real stainless steel pan properly to make it nonstick (hot pan + cold fat is the secret), BUT sometime when you just don’t have the patience and don’t want your eggs or pancakes to stick, this works like a charm. I have the 10.5 inch fry pan in sage green and love the pop of color it adds to our kitchen.
Glass Tupperware Set: This is a less glamorous gift, but such a good one. Reducing plastic in the kitchen is one of the best ways to lower your toxic load. I love the variety of sizes and shapes in this set, and of course how well they all stack together to take up less space.
Epicurean Cutting Board: On the topic of plastic, cutting boards are one of the worst offenders, but finding a good swap is hard. If you’re looking for something not plastic that won’t harbor bacteria but is also dishwasher safe and knife friendly, this is the one you need. I haven’t purchased these yet but they’re on my wishlist for this year. Many of my fellow NTPs have told me they’ve had theirs for years.
Healthy Cookbooks: This one, this one and this one are my three most used for easy, nutrient-dense meals. I love these in particular because they’re great for anyone with sensitivities or on a gut healing journey (because aren’t we all??).
For the Ones Trying to Make Their Homes a Little Less Toxic
The Best Air Filter: Filtering your air and water and water and the top two non-nutrition related tips I share with my clients. Maybe an air filter isn’t the most exciting gift, but it’s a great way to show someone who says they don’t need anything that you love them and want them to be around for a long time. If you use my link the discount auto applies. This sale is live until December 4th and is their lowest pricing of the year. My most used one is the AD3500 which is on sale for $329. Replacement filters are also included in this sale so definitely a great time to stock up as the next sale usually doesn’t happen until March / April and filters aren’t always included. NOTE: The AD3500 should show as $329. This link can be finicky so feel free to DM me if you don’t see the same price reflected.
Glass Water Filter: This is a reverse osmosis filtration system complete with a 64 ounce glass pitcher that sits on the countertop. I recommend adding the Alkaline Mineral Boost filter to re-mineralize the water. If this one isn’t in your budget, this is my favorite starter pitcher. It is plastic but not a major issue since the water isn’t hot. I love to bring this one on trips.
Nontoxic Cleaning Starter Kit: This kit from Branch Basics is all I use for cleaning every part of my home, from by bathroom to kitchen counters to base boards. I originally started with the plastic version but wish I had bit the bullet and bought the glass version up front.
Nontoxic Candles: When I switched to a fully non-toxic home, the thing I missed the most was a candle so I was thrilled to find these naturally scented candles from Primally Pure. They are pricey but they come without the endocrine disruptors so I’ll happily pay a few extra bucks. I also recently purchased some from this company - they’re also fully nontoxic and a bit cheaper, but I haven’t tested yet to know if they work as well. The main complaint for nontoxic candles is that they’re not quite as fragrant, but I’ll report back on these soon!
Shower Filter: This is another not so fun or glamorous gift, but let me tell you, this is one of my favorite things in our home. And the best part? It’s $35. Skip the overly marketed Canopy and Jolie filters and opt for this just as effective version. It comes in over five finishes and screws into your existing shower head.
